Project description

This single-drawing project evolved whilst the Group were working on the development of Euston Station. One of the subjects of discussion was the future role of Euston Square — a small city park — which separated the station from Euston Road, a busy major cross-city route. Here it is suggested that the inevitable commercial activities of the station’s concourse might be taken below an extension of the grassy public square. The railhead is to the right of the section and the feeder road from Euston Road to the left.

An early indication of the concept to be developed in the Features Monte Carlo project and later, on a much smaller scale, for the Calverton End Children’s Playground. (Project 165).
